Sosua Beach Club Fresita`s is a restaurant bar, offering a high level of service to local and international visitors. Their menu consists of international and local dishes including North American treats, filet, steak, American breakfast, seafood, pasta, chicken dishes, Soups, and burgers; Also a Dominican local selection including sancocho, mofongo, cocido, tripe stew and rice dishes favored by almost all locals.

The location is easy to find, about 30 meters away from the parking lot in El Batey, and visitors can reserve a parking area by calling the restaurant ahead of time, also reserve tables ( there are 5 ). This restaurant includes its own bathroom, and it is decorated with Taino and African cultural motifs. Best in the menu is the red snapper and grouper ( steamed with veggies ), the Tempura shrimp  and grilled lobster.

This Beach Club is a great spot for families visiting Sosua, and offers services such as birthday parties, small intimate beach weddings, catering service and is linked to many villa rentals in Sosua, allowing rental customers access to the beach club facilities and discounts when booking loungers, using the bathroom and reserving services.

Poutine is one of the Quebecois dishes at Cathy et Rémy.

The menu includes a variety of Poisson ( fish dishes ), 5 varieties of Poutine (a dish originating from the Canadian province of Quebec, consisting of French fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy); and Poulet (chicken ) dishes such as the Swiss Cordon Bleu, wings, and and pineapple and coconut chicken.

The menu also includes a selection of crêpes, such as the fromage Suisse (swiss cheese), jambon et fromage (ham&cheese), sauce bolognaise avec oignons+fromage (bolognaise sauce, onions and cheese), Suisse bacon et oeuf (Swiss bacon and eggs), and dessert crepes ( au chocolat, au sucre brun, avec banana, au cointreau).

A signature dish in the menu is the Gazpacho Andaluz ( a cold soup made of tomato, pepper and vegetables ). There`s also salads, sandwiches, croquettes, hot dogs, and pasta. Cathy et Rémy have a very complete bar that offers top drinks and cocktails, a one stop place to spend great moments with friends.

Sosua beach enjoys great weather year round

Other dishes in the menu include Pasta ( Bolognese, Carbonara, 4 cheese, and Shrimp Pasta ), Salad ( Garden, Tuna, the Chef`s selection ) and Soups.

The Ćevapi (Kebab ) at Rakija Restaurant is delicious.

We visited Rakija and tried the Kebab, it was delicious. The views of the beach reminds us we`re in paradise, and the pina coladas and cold presidente beers made it a perfect day.

Veal roulade with zucchini

As in most German restaurants, the sausages are also varied: Bratwurst, Turinger, Wiener, Bockwurst, Beef sausages. A swiss dish made famous in Germany, Schnitzel, is also in the menu. And there`s a part of the menu just in German: Rinderroulade, also spelled Rouladen, (a German meat dish, usually consisting of bacon, onions, mustard and pickles wrapped in thinly sliced beef which is then cooked ).

Also Schweinebraten (roast pork), Konigsberger klopse (German meatballs), Bigos (a Polish dish of finely chopped meat of various kinds stewed with sauerkraut and shredded fresh cabbage), Sauerbraten (a German pot roast that can be prepared with a variety of meats).

There`s also Thunfischsalat ( German Tuna Salad ), Gefilte Paprika ( a Jewish dish made of carp, paprika and other ingredients ), Kotlet (a delicious Iranian version of ground meat patty). He also does niño envuelto ( Cabbage rolls) a dish with its origins in ancient Greece but found in many countries.

The terrace at Jorge`s Restaurant has great beach views

Also a selection of pasta dishes: Bolognese, Carbonara, Garlic sauce, Creole, chicken; Their steak selection includes filet mignon, grilled beef, Creole beef, and black pepper steak. A list of pork dishes: Pork filet Creole, Grilled pork chops, Schnitzel ( breaded pork ), Mushroom sauce pork, Mofongo ( mashed plantain with pork ) and pepper sauce pork filet.

Lobster Thermidor is available at Jorge`s Restaurant

The seafood menu offers various lobster dishes, including thermidor, garlic based, grilled and on Mofongo. There`s also grilled shrimp, garlic shrimp, Octopus creole, Conch, Crab, Seafood casserole, seabass, red snapper, fried fish and mahi mahi. They also include seafood paella, a Valencian dish with special rice and saffron where available.

Grilled Octopus at Chulo`s Sosua Beach

For Seafood there`s also: Lobster (grilled, garlic, thermidor, and Creole dishes), Shrimp ( same options as lobster), Octopus ( a la vinaigrette, garlic, Creole), Conch (in garlic sauce, Creole style, Vinaigrette), Crab, Creole style Crab, and Seafood casserole for 2.

Chicken dishes at Chulo`s include wings, nuggets, curry chicken, grilled breast, Parmesan style chicken, cracklings, Cordon Bleu, breaded chicken, in mushroom sauce, Creole style, Prickle chicken, and BBQ grilled.

Chulo`s also offers various types of sandwiches, such as ham&cheese, chicken, club sandwich, and hamburgers.

Frank and Annie deserve credit for keeping quality consistently over the years, also the staff, one of the most friendly in the beach. As with many beach restaurants, they specialize in seafood, and having a red snapper with sautéed veggies and the amazing beach views…it is simply awesome. Have sex on the beach while waiting for the food, it`s great. We mean the Vodka-based cocktail, of course. We`ll list here some items in the menu to bring you a quick overview of what Mofongo King has to offer:

The Fish Selection

Among the fish selection we have the grilled sea bass fillet, also the menier version, the mushroom sauce version, creole fish filet, breaded fish filet, fried fish, fried fish fingers, grilled, fish, and Red Snapper. Of course, they might not list all the fish but we know there`s a chance to get Mahi Mahi, wahoo and other known species available in most Sosua Beach restaurants. A quick eco friendly note: never ask or buy Parrotfish in DR, it is banned until the year 2020.

The Soups

Mofongo King`s menu is extensive, prices are standard ( average US$10 for a pork filet kebab or schnitzel, shown as breaded pork filet in the menu ). The beach restaurant also serves a variety of soups, such as vegetable soup, fish soup, mixed seafood soup and chicken.

The Salads

In the salad department there`s garden salad ( shown as mixed in the menu), Shrimp cocktail, seafood salad, Caesar`s, and vegetables.

Mofongo King is also known for its pastas, and the selection speaks for itself: Bolognese, Carbonara, Pasta with shrimp, Marinara, Alfredo, and pasta with garlic.

Beef Dishes

A quick view at the menu we found these beef dishes: beefsteak ( mushroom sauce and bacon ), grilled beefsteak, house steak creole, pepper steak, garlic butter steak, and beef fillet kebab.

The Salads menu includes classics such as Caesar`s salad, Shrimp cocktail, Nizza (tomato, cucumber, onions), Capricciosa (tuna, eggs mix), and Gamberoni (Shrimp mixed ). The Chicken menu has fried chicken, Dominican style, chicken nuggets, grilled chicken breasts, and Cordon Bleu.

The Beef menu offers Scaloppa ai funghi (pork steak with mushroom), Cotoletta alla Grigia (grilled pork chops), Cordon Bleu (ham & cheese stuffed porksteak), Bistecca Milanesa (breaded pork cutlet), Involtino ai spinacci, and Scaloppa Gorgonzola.

You can walk just a few steps down to the beach and trust this reviewer, it is incredible. Montanara restaurant also has chaise lounges by the water where customers can sprawl and be served while sipping on their mojitos holding hands, taking in the beach scenery, the swaying palms and the ocean breeze.

The Fish menu is purely gourmet, and by this point we wonder if this restaurant will rise to the top in the list, this is serious. We tried the Mahi fillet with zucchini and green salad, took about 35 minutes waiting but it was worth it while we enjoyed drinks and the relaxed beach atmosphere.

The fish selection starts with the Fried calamari, also has the grilled shrimps, fried fish (DR style), Shrimps in garlic sauce, grilled Mahi fillet, and Mahi au vin and pasta. If we are to rate Montanara, we could be sure to say this is a truly gourmet restaurant in Sosua Beach, clearly number one in its category. There is also a listing for Montanara beach bar, listing the available drinks.

Bandera Dominicana is the true source for DR food in Sosua Beach

The seafood selection includes Red snapper ( steamed, on the grill, fried ), Mahi Mahi, Ceviche, Shrimp in several sauces,  Lobster, Octopus, Conch, Crab, Surf `n Turf, and Seafood Casserole. The beef menu has filet mignon, and several beef-based dishes; Swiss schnitzel (breaded pork ), pork chops and Mofongo. There are also salads, hamburgers, sandwiches, and several varieties of chicken dishes.
