Scammer Ronald Morris from Washington DC visited Sosua Beach on August 13th, 2024 and booked a Sosua catamaran charter with a credit card he later called to refund back, once the trip was done with, 10 days later. He blocked all our numbers from Whatsapp and we had to contact him via another phone # to get a response.

Scammer Ronald Morris asked us to wait 2 weeks so he could get funds to pay us, even when the funds were on transit and could be released by just cancelling the refund order. We waited and on October 17th we tried to contact him and got no response. In true scammer fashion, he deleted the picture from his Whatsapp account, but we already had saved all the information ahead of his move.
Sosua is a small town in the Dominican Republic, where hard working people wake up every day to make a living. Stealing from Dominicans must not be the norm, specially by North Americans, a much larger country and the first economy of the world. Scammers are not welcome in the DR, so we will keep this profile for as long as Mr. Ronald Morris stays at large from paying his debt to the charter company, which is part of the Sosua community.
We warn you against doing business with Mr. Morris as he is a known scammer that is now unwelcome to the Dominican Republic once this publication gets syndicated in the local news network with over 500,000 members that include resorts, tour operators and other tourism related companies. We will also report this to the authorities in the United States in the next week when this news article will be published in the social media networks.
